Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC), AAS
The Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) AAS degree presents technical training to students in the areas of electricity, heating, residential air conditioning, refrigeration, sheet metal fabrication, residential installation practices, HVAC troubleshooting skills, direct digital controls (DDC) & commercial HVAC applications. This program provides students with industry credentialing in the areas of refrigerant handling safety, job site safety, tool usage, residential HVAC and basic commercial HVAC. Foundational skills and principles learned in this program prepare students to work in the commercial and residential HVAC industry. This program will offer students preparation to test for the industry-recognized credentials listed below.
The Washburn Tech HVAC program is in alignment with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP Code 47.0201: Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration Maintenance Technology/Technician. A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, install, service and maintain the operating condition of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Includes instruction in diagnostic techniques, the use of testing equipment and the principles of mechanics, electricity, and electronics as they relate to the repair of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Degree Requirements
In addition to the requirements stated below, students must complete all requirements for an Associate of Applied Science degree. Completion of the courses below will fulfill the general education requirements for the degree. Please see your advisor for more information.
