Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), AAS

The Washburn Tech Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program is available as a full-time, daytime program with either August or January start dates. Students who successfully complete this 65-credit hour program will earn their Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing and will then be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensing exam. Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN enables the graduate to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Applicants for the ADN program must have completed a Kansas approved Practical Nursing program and have an active Kansas LPN license.

The Washburn Tech Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program is in alignment with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP Code 51.3801: Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. A program that generally prepares individuals in the knowledge, techniques, and procedures for promoting health, providing care for sick, disabled, infirmed, or other individuals or groups. Includes instruction in the administration of medication and treatments, assisting a physician during treatments and examinations, referring patients to physicians and other health care specialists, and planning education for health maintenance.

Degree Requirements

To be eligible for this program, students must first successfully complete the Practical Nursing Certificate and be licensed as an LPN in the state of Kansas. In addition to the requirements stated below, students must complete all requirements for an Associate of Applied Science degree. Completion of the courses below will fulfill the general education requirements for the degree. Please see your advisor for more information.
